When we purchased this farm over 35 years ago, it was being used for conventional cropping and a small ornamental horticulture nursery. The corn fields and Christmas trees are now gone and much of the land is devoted to Wildlife Habitat Improvement , a Pawpaw orchard, and a small hybrid chestnut grove.. The main focus, however, is on developing the North American Pawpaw orchard, as well as making available pawpaw trees for sale. Currently, in the orchard we have about 100 pawpaw trees planted, consisting of over 30 different cultivars in various stages of growth. Regarding pawpaw tree availability, we have several grafted cultivars of pawpaws, including all six of Neal Peterson’s Trademarked and Registered cultivars (Shenandoah, Susquehanna, Potomac, Wabash, Allegheny, Rappahannock) , Kentucky State Universities’ Trademarked cultivars (KSU-Benson, KSU-Atwood), and some of the older, more well know cultivars (Sunflower, PAG, Taytwo, NC-1, IXL, Lynns Favorite, Sweet Alice, and others). All grafted trees are growing in 14” tall tree trainer pots and the trees are 2.5-5’ in height. We also have select pawpaw tree seedlings available. In addition to North American Pawpaws, we have several varieties of Figs, Mulberry trees and American persimmon tree seedlings available. Sporadically, Hazelnut, Buckeye, Horse chestnut, Evodia, Kentucky Coffee , Ginkgo, Hybrid Oaks, Black walnut, Black locust, and a few other tree seedlings are available.
